Lately, I have been thinking about ways to decorate my home without photos of hubby and I everywhere.  Simple, modern art that makes an impact and at a minimal cost (this project was actually FREE since I already had all of the supplies).  I found this photo on pinterest and thought, what a creative idea! source Though I really liked the gold coloring, we don't have any gold decor in our home.  So, I looked to see what types of scrapbook paper I had in my paper stash and found shiny silver and glittery silver paper.  One sheet of each actually.  Perfect! What you'll need: Frame of any size. I used an 11x14 frame and with the matting it became 8x10. Poster board to fit into the opening of the frame. 1" round hole punch Scrapbook paper of any kind.  I kept the same color scheme but the options are unlimited. Glue stick. Directions: Cut your poster board to fit into the frame, or the matting, depending on what size you will be using....

The weekend after Thanksgiving, Jesse and I ventured out into the cold and cut down our Christmas tree.  Since then, we haven't really had a chance to do much home decorating until now!  And I'm excited to continue the annual Christmas Home Tour this year!  This is one of our favorite times of the year and we are so thankful to be able to share it with the ones we love.  We actually decided to keep it much simpler this year as we had gotten rid of a lot of decorations after Christmas last year and decided to keep the decorations on the main floor this go around (Family Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, and Powder Room).  Less is more.  Make yourself a cup of hot cocoa, turn on the Christmas music, have a seat and enjoy this little home tour! Almost one year ago I pinned a bottle cap magnet idea onto Pinterest which I found on ETSY .  Then today I was perusing the Duck Store's website for Christmas gift ideas (it's never too early to plan ahead for Christmas!) and came across these MAGNETIC BOTTLE CAPS which reminded me of the Etsy pin.  Now on Etsy's website, you don't get any tutorials there...it is simply a market place to purchase handmade items and a variety of others goods.  So here is my tutorial on how to make these fun magnets.  Or how I think they should be made.  Obviously since my husband and I are duck fans my theme is from the University of Oregon, but you could print off any personal photos you want!  So, here we go! (via) I found THIS (above) little DIY project on pinterest and knew I needed to have one of these canvases in my own home!  She didn't really give a tutorial so I tried to mimic what she did.  I think it turned out pretty well.  It's not perfect and I am OK with that.  Let me share with you how to make one for yourself!  Oh, and in case you're wondering, the numbers on our canvas (below) are our wedding anniversary!  Just celebrated 4 years!  Woot Woot!
