Since we're trying to share our renovation progress on the blog, here is a look into what we've done most recently. We still have a bit to go before we move in but we're encouraged with the progress we've made. So let's see what we've been up to! JP dug a trench on the property where we're parked (wonderful family has offered to let us park on their acreage outside of Bend) in order to lay the piping so we could feed the power hook up. We hired an electrician to install an RV power outlet (50, 40, and 30 amps on post). We prepped the walls for painting by spraying them with TSP (you can now get phosphate free I believe!) so that the paint would adhere better. We filled all holes in the walls with plaster putty. We started painting the bedroom and living/kitchen space. We still have the toy hauler, the bathroom, the loft, storage area, and part of the kitchen to complete. Once our RV was delivered to the property about two months ago, we began working on it and we'd like to share what we've done so far. When the rig was delivered, there was still a lot of snow accumulation on the property but we were thankful that the roads were clear enough for the delivery. It actually didn't take JP very long to get the rig stabilized, much to my surprise. Now when we enter the RV, I won't get motion sick, ha! DAY 1 | TIME SPENT: 2 HOURS We removed the sofa and tables from the slide out and we'll be donating them soon. For now they are in the toy hauler until we can move them elsewhere. We ripped out the carpet in one of the slide outs. We took off all of the window coverings in the entire RV and that really opened up the spaces. That was a feat in itself to remove all of the hardware but we're so happy with how it turned out. We removed all nails, screws and pins in the walls. JP removed all of the wallpaper in the entire RV. ...

We felt like travel trailers were too short for JP and we weren't completely sold on the idea of a motor in the rig itself, so a motorhome was also out of the question. Well, we finally took the plunge! We are now the proud owners of a 2008 Thor Vortex, 39 foot 5th wheel toy hauler. I briefly wrote about her here  because we bought her in DECEMBER, I know, I'm a little behind. She has three slide outs and plenty of storage (way more than our apartment!). Over the coming weeks and months, we'll be giving you a "before" tour as well as the progress we've made on the "demolition."  That's right! Our journey towards tiny living has begun! As you've read about in the past, the initial dream was to build our own custom tiny house but after touring some different options and speaking with a tiny home builder, we were forced to shift directions a bit. What we wanted, though reasonable, was at least double our price ceiling.
