New Uses for Old Things: Mail Organizer as Cutting Board Divider

Sort your cutting boards in the kitchen for easy access in an overstuffed cabinet using this mail sorter. This mail sorter was found in one of three boxes that I am sorting for my office supplies.  I didn't want to get rid of it so I thought it could be used for another purpose.  Ignore the dust. A common item rethought for a new purpose.  Love when that happens!
Happy Friday!

Look what's in our garage!

Isn't she beautiful?  This girl has been in the shop for the last four years and has now come home to live in our garage, and we are thrilled!  She is a 1971 Ford Mustang, Mach 1 with a 429 Cobra Jet engine.  Yup, she's a beaut.  (:
Here is what she looked like when hubs first purchased her:

My husband purchased her just a few months before we met and quickly put her into the shop to begin the body repair/restoration.  She has been primed and is ready for a new paint job.  We haven't yet picked a paint color but are throwing around a few colors.
Here she is in the shop:

Over the last few weeks my father-in-law has come over and helped JP remove the engine and most recently JP and one of his buddies just removed the transmission.

JP getting greasy and loving it:

Here is a corner of the garage with walking room:

The shell of the vehicle:

After we (mostly he) restore the engine, then we'll refurbish the inside including all new flooring, seating, everything new and pretty, ahem …

More Girl Cave Inspiration

Good morning blogettes!  The hubs wasn't feeling real well and slept real late, so I am here cleaning the house and putting away the Christmas decor.  We have college group at our home tonight and I am preparing for that as well!
So, here's the deal.  I have narrowed down my design elements for the office.  On Pinterest I pinned roughly 100+ photos of chairs, curtains, rugs, sleeper sofas, desks, bookcases, etc. and now I have made some decisions.  Actually the desk is complete and so is the bookcase I just need to paint the bookcase and then I'll share the process with you!
I am absolutely loving the feeling of the room on the left and have taken the inspiration to the office.  I wish I could take every element of the room on the right.  Sigh.
Gallery Eight and Hey Gorgeous The Axis Full Sleeper is from Crate and Barrel and the chandy I found here. The Ripple Ivory Leather Office Chair is from Crate and Barrel and the Blush Ruffle Pillow is from Pier 1.

Yummy Desserts

Ok, it is about time that I share with you the recipes for the desserts that I made for our Ugly Mug Exchange a few weeks ago and all that I learned in the process.  Amazing and awkward, check.  Hope you get a chuckle.
Pretzel Treats

Cute and Sassy Designs by Bonnie

Ingredients: Bite-size, waffle-shaped pretzels Hershey's Kiss or Hershey's Hug M&M's candyInstructions: Heat the oven to 170F. Set a number of bite-size, waffle-shaped pretzels (one for each treat) in a single layer on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, then top each pretzel with an unwrapped Hershey's Kiss or Hershey's Hug. Bake for 4 to 6 minutes (the white chocolate will melt more quickly), until the chocolates feel soft when touched with a wooden spoon. Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and quickly press an M&M's candy into the center of each Kiss.Allow the treats to cool for a few minutes, then place them in the refrigerator to set, about 10 minutes. Homemade Photo Booth and Props

For the Ugly Mug Exchange, I added a home made photo booth and was hoping our guests would unleash their inner child.  I was also hoping people would sort of break out of their bubble and have some fun.  Though the backdrop was pretty, the props really made the biggest impact!
Before I show you the props, let me share how I created the pretty backdrop.  Here were my inspiration photos I found online through Pinterest.
Lune and Chloe Weddings
Wouldn't that be a gorgeous backdrop?  Then I thought that since I had the white curtains in our dining room, I could hang lights behind the curtains for sort of a glowing effect.  Something like this.

Prop Insanity
Hoping for this effect.

So, I purchased white on white lights (4 strands) and began hanging. Here was my result.  Not too shabby.

Next to the backdrop I had a little tv tray with a snazzy photo booth sign from Piccsy: Printed on dark green craft paper and framed:

I wanted to create cute paper props, but after hunting for sketch…
