GIRL CAVE OFFICE CHAIR REVEAL

Part of me was embarrassed and part of me was super excited.  For the last, maybe two years, I have been searching for the perfect white office chair within our budget.  White, white, white.  "What about this chair?"   "No, it doesn't co me in white."   Most chairs you find online that state they are white are actually an ivory color.  And since I am on the cheap frugal side, I don't want to spend $400.00 for a real white leather office chair.  So, when I came home the other day with a black office chair my husband was shocked.  Even more importantly though, the chair was comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, and on a huge smokin' sale !!!  What I didn't take into consideration in regards to a white chair is that often times jeans will bleed onto the white leather!  Plus the black makes a nice contrast against my white desk, bookcase, and printer table.   Let me introduce to you my new office chair from Staples :  STAPLES B...

MODERN KITCHEN BAR STOOLS AND WHY WE CHOSE THEM

Ok, so I promise we're not made of money.  The lamps I shared with you last week were purchased six months ago and I have been oooing and aaawing over these here stools for much longer than that!  Seriously, I am in love with these stools.  They are actually a replica from Tolix made in France (which run between $250 and $300 a piece) and since I am pretty cheap, I hummed and hawed for months and months before I decided to just take the plunge and order the replicas online .  Introducing the Tabouret Metal Counter Stools (set of 2) for $89.99 from Overstock.  Don't you just love all of the fun colors!? ! source We purchased two sets of two in the "metal" color which looks more like a shiny grey rather than a metallic finish.  The stools are super sturdy and I believe well-made, for the price, and I am super satisfied with them!  Hubby isn't sold on them exactly since they don't "match" our kitchen but that is kind of the point.  I ha...

BEDSIDE LAMP REVEAL

Remember when I shared with you that I was in the market for new master bedroom lamps ?  Well, this Fall I scooped up two lamps from Pier 1 Imports.  I know, I know, I am a bit late in telling you the news.  They were such a good deal ($55.00/ea), great shape, nice coloring, and hubby liked them!!  It is somewhat rare for both of us to like a piece of furniture (since our tastes are SO different) and I was thrilled to hear some positive feedback from him!  I am still debating changing out the color of the lamp shade for a lighter Spring/Summer feel, but for now we have been enjoying these beauties just as they are! Ivory Genie Lamp, source We bought two but I am only showing you the lamp on my side of the bed.   So glad I waited until I found something that I loved, and for that price, oh my goodness!  If you'd like to learn more about our bedside tables, read here . Here is a n evening photo.  See how the lamp shade looks so much d...

FAMILY ROOM (AND RUG) REVEAL

Happy Weekend all! Under the "Our Home" link on the left sidebar, we have very outdated photos of our home and I thought I'd give you an update of at least one of those rooms!  It is always a work in progress but w e purchased a beautiful new and super inexpensive rug from Overstock and are absolutely loving it!   It is a shag rug which I wouldn't have normally gone for but I like the ivory and grey contemporary patt ern and I like that it is super thick and super soft!  It looks to be very durable and I think will last a long time!  The coloring is even better than shown in the photos below, and the pile of the rug is high and low.  When I was reading the reviews, most people had nothing but good things to say.  However, there was a discrepancy about sizing.  Under Product Details, the rug size stated 5x8.  Under dimensions it stated 8x10.  When you go to order online, you can only select 5'3"x7'6".  The latter is the true size ...

DIY TISSUE COVERED LUMINARIES

May I present to you a semi-failed DIY project that I am embarrassed to show you and that may or may not be kept in our home!  Ha!  How's that for an introduction!?!   I credit my impatience for the failure.  Check out the link and tutorial for these beautiful luminaries here .  Rhi over at Hey Gorgeous Events did such a great job, taking her time and lining everything up.  Towards the end I rushed it ( compare the top vs the bottom of the vase ) .  Well, you can see for yourself .   Happy crafting!!
